Attila Ferjáncz all-time Hungarian rally champion, outstanding figure of the heroic age of Hungarian car sport. Unfortunately, he cannot be among us, but the organizers of the Hungaroring Classic invited his son, András, to a special time travel, who will drive his father’s former race car, a Renault 17 Gordini. This will be a moving and at the same time exciting meeting.
“You must know, that none of dad’s cars remained, so this will be the second race machine, I have a chance to drive” said András Ferjáncz. “First, I raced with a 12 Gordini with Barna Zsembery and now this opportunity came. This will definitely be a touching moment and I am glad that we can remember him this way. On the other hand, this will be a great experience, because I really like old race cars, they are completely different than the ones used today and in that era, when they were running, these cars were real rocket science. Interestingly, I have never raced on the Hungaroring before, though I rode on it with race speed. I really like this track, it is really demanding, every completed meter is a gift on it.”
